How to use this converter

  1. Paste your text in the input box — anything from a heading to a variable name.
  2. Choose a case from the row above. The output updates instantly, and switching cases never touches your original text.
  3. Copy the result with one click, or press Clear to start over.
  4. Chain conversions if needed: convert to Title Case, copy it back in, then pick another style.

Useful information

Capitalisation rules are surprisingly consequential: they shape headings, satisfy code style guides, and occasionally break APIs that expect exact strings. Here's what each mode does.

Reading the styles

UPPERCASE and lowercase are straight transforms. Title Case capitalises every word (“the quick brown fox” → “The Quick Brown Fox”). Sentence case lowers everything then capitalises after ., ! and ? — the fix for text pasted out of shouting headers.

Code naming styles

camelCase starts lowercase and capitalises each following word (“userName”), used widely in JavaScript and APIs. snake_case lowercases everything and joins words with underscores (“user_name”), the standard in Python, Ruby and database columns. Punctuation and spaces become word boundaries in both.

Honest limitations

Acronyms in Title Case become words (“HTTP Server” → “Http Server”), and Sentence case can't tell an abbreviation from a sentence end. These are mechanical transforms — always give headings a quick human read before publishing.

Frequently asked questions

Which cases can this tool convert?

UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case, camelCase and snake_case. Pick a style and the output updates live as you type.

How does Title Case work here?

The first letter of every word is capitalised and the rest lowered: “hello WORLD” becomes “Hello World”. It's the quick, mechanical version — style guides differ on small words like “and” or “the”.

What about Sentence case?

Everything is lowered, then the first letter of the text and any letter after . ! or ? is capitalised — the pattern you want for pasted headings that arrived in all caps.

Does it handle other languages?

Yes — conversions use JavaScript's Unicode-aware string methods, so accented letters and non-Latin scripts change case correctly. Languages without case (Chinese, Hindi in Devanagari) pass through unchanged.

Is my text stored anywhere?

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser — your text is never sent to a server or saved by Jivora.
